A 14 unit townhouse project
located on the corner of Martin Luther King Drive
and 46th Street in Chicago, the design of the
complex takes into consideration, the scale and
detail of the stately stone mansions and apartment
buildings that grace the boulevard, on which this
project is sited, while establishing a distinct
character of its own.
Entry doors and main living spaces
face the street and establish a relationship with
the street at the pedestrian level. Garage doors are
clustered together away from the street in an
intimately scaled auto court, which is bordered by
private balconies and roof deck spaces above. Units
feature three or four bedrooms, two full bathrooms
and two powder rooms in 2,550 - 2,800 square feet of
living space on four levels. There are three basic
unit types that are comparable in size, but
different in configuration.
All units have a first floor family room, a small
garden area and a two-car garage, or a one-car
garage and an additional exterior space, an open
second floor, with high ceilings, two or three
bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry area on the third
floor and a fourth floor master bedroom suite with
vaulted ceilings and a large (240 S.F.) deck.
Numerously well-placed windows create generous
amounts of natural light, atypical for a project of
this type. |
